Happy Holidays!
Feeling festive in the kitchen?
Get your oven mitts ready, it’s time to bake up some holiday cheer for the four-legged family members! Whether they’re on the naughty or nice list (let’s be honest, probably both), these homemade pet cookies are a fun and tasty way to show them some extra love this season.
Dog-Friendly Christmas Cookie Cut-Outs
Ingredients:
2 ½ cups whole wheat flour (or oat flour for sensitive pups)
½ cup natural peanut butter (unsweetened, no xylitol)
½ cup unsweetened applesauce or mashed banana
¼ cup water (add more if dough is dry)
1 tsp cinnamon (optional for scent/flavor)
1 egg
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large bowl, mix flour, peanut butter, applesauce/banana, egg, and cinnamon.
Slowly add water until a dough forms — not too sticky, not too dry.
Lightly flour your surface and roll out dough to ¼ inch thick.
Cut into festive shapes using cookie cutters (stars, trees, bones!).
Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 18–20 minutes or until golden.
Let cool completely before decorating.
Pup-Safe Decorating Ideas:
“Icing”: Mix plain Greek yogurt with a touch of cornstarch or arrowroot powder for thickness. Use a piping bag or brush it on!
Sprinkles: Use crushed freeze-dried strawberries, parsley flakes, or tiny bits of carrot for colorful toppings.
Cat Safe Festive Tuna & Catnip Holiday Cookies

1 cup oat flour (or finely ground oats)
1 can of tuna in water (drained)
1 egg
1 tablespoon dried catnip
1 tablespoon olive oil
1–2 tablespoons water (as needed)

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a bowl, mash tuna with a fork until flaky.
Mix in flour, egg, catnip, and olive oil.
Add water a little at a time until a soft dough forms.
Roll dough to about ¼ inch thick and cut into small shapes (stars, hearts, fish).
Place on parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 12–15 minutes, or until firm and lightly browned.
Cool completely before serving.
Enjoy!
